According to OSHA 1926.503(a)(1), “The employer shall provide a training
program for each employee who might be exposed to fall hazards. The pro-
gram shall enable each employee to recognize the hazards of falling and shall
train each employee in the procedures to be followed in order to minimize
these hazards.” Workers need fall protection when accessing unprotected
areas at a height of six feet or more. Frequency of this training is initially, and

(1926.503(c)). Job descriptions include, but are not limited to construction
trades, mechanical and electrical maintenance employees; painters; utility

protection is needed and how to choose, wear and maintain proper fall protec-
tion equipment. Training will cover the regulatory requirements and safe work
practices to help prevent accidents and injuries.
For Facility or Site Supervisors, we also offer the two-day intermediate level
course for those who must also serve as the “Competent Person” required by
OSHA 1926.32(f), 1926.500 and 1910 standards.
